I didn't catch the name of this humble little shrimp boat but it's the one that's sitting to the right of the "Dora Mae" in my last post. This was painted at the same location-- Scipio Creek, or Mill Pond (I hear it called both) but on a different day. It was becoming late in the day and the sky was taking on a nice rosy color, especially noticeable in the bottom side of the clouds. I really enjoy painting these boats-- In fact, I'm going to try to produce at least one painting of every old shrimp boat in Apalachicola this Fall, when it cools off a little, since these wonderful subjects won't be around too much longer.
