Scipio Creek

I spent this Saturday in Apalachicola, Florida painting at Scipio Creek. As the photos show, it was a grayish overcast day. Typical of the winter here in North Florida. Since the light was constant, I was able to complete two 12" x 16" canvasses this day. I've painted here several times before. It's one of the locations where a lot of us end up during the "Forgotten Coast Paint Out" that takes place in May. Apalachicola offers plenty of great subjects from old shrimp boats that are somehow still in use to the beautifully maintained victorian homes from a time when Apalachicola was a booming port town. Not to mention it's famous for it's oysters! " Scipio Creek" 12" x 16" oil on linen
